COMPETITIONS
The Columbia Valley Skating Club partakes in 4 competitions per year however there are many more all throughout BC to register for competitions please go to the Skating in BC Events website and follow the links.

WKI-West Kootenay Invitational:
Open to all skaters including out of province, this competition is held in the West Kootenays: Castlegar, Nelson, Beaver Valley (Fruitvale), Rossland, Grand Forks, Trail. This competition is currently held with virtual judging and live streaming.
EKI- East Kootenay Invitational:
This Competition is open to all skaters including out of province skaters. It is held in the East Kootenays: Cranbrook, Kimberley, Sparwood, Elkford, Fernie, Invermere. This competition has live judging and live streaming.
Kootenay Region Championships:
This Competition is open only to the the Kootenay Region Skaters from both the East and West. This is held in Creston BC, at their amazing complex with a pool party and a fun Team Event. The Team Event is so fun and makes for a great first competition. Every club creates a number all all numbers are shown with a pizza and pool party following.
Super Series STARSkate Final:
Open to all skaters in the province of BC this competition is held in Kelowna BC. This four day event is held on two ice surfaces simultaneously with a Regional Team Competition included. All Regions select 10 skaters whose individual events placement will be valued with a score. The scores will be added up for a Region total score which will determine the final rankings. A process has been developed in order to equalize the categories so that an event with few skaters compares equally to an event with many skaters.
